Unfortunately, the new trailer gave no further information about the game's protagonist. At this point, very little is known about the influential assassin and his role in the origin story of the franchise. "Assassin's Creed: Origins" was first revealed this summer during the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, and even then the details about the assassin were stark. More information about the protagonist may be revealed in future trailers ahead of the game's official release.
Although the game has been out for several days now, Paperbox Creations and Ubisoft Hong Kong have released a new animated trailer on Twitter. The trailer opens up with an Anubis priest in a mummifying ceremony who then transitions into Bayek's, the in-game protagonist, hawk as he prepares to assassinate his targets.
Bayek jumps into the fray and single-handedly takes down all the guards before finally assassinating his target using the iconic hidden blade, all in fluid hand-drawn animations. The trailer only lasted a minute but shows the quality of the work that Paperbox Creations has put into the game, as well as faithfully showcasing the game's combat, where Bayek is usually outnumbered but is ultimately able to overcome his enemies.
Watch the debut Assassin's Creed Mirage trailer above to get your first look at a younger Basim, the beautiful Baghdad setting, and refined focus on assassinations, parkour, and stealth. While the CGI trailer doesn't feature any gameplay, it does give us a really good sense of what to expect from Mirage. Fans of Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2 will want to pay attention, as there are a lot of mechanics hinted at in here that were lost as the series transitioned into a RPG.
And now, highlights from the "everyone gets their equipment and costumes back" montage: Here is a close-up of Deadshot's arsenal, which we see him using to great effect throughout the entire trailer against targets both stationary and moving. You'll note that the "I am the light" is written on the barrel, which suggest a righteous/religious connotation that is completely new to this character, who has been traditionally been portrayed as a hardened assassin who works strictly for cash. 2b1af7f3a8
